Coco Gauff fights her way into the round of 16 – title dream lives on!

Tennis star Coco Gauff has reached the round of 16 on her way to defending her title at the US Open. The 20-year-old American prevailed in her third-round match after initial difficulties with a score of 3:6, 6:3, 6:3 against the Ukrainian Elina Switolina and can continue to dream of another triumph at her home game.

The previous year she won her first and only Grand Slam title in New York.

“That means so much to me. I knew it would be a tough match today. I had to show my best tennis. I am proud of my performance. Thank you for this atmosphere,” said Gauff. The Arthur Ashe Stadium is her “favorite place.”

In the round of 16, the world number three will face her compatriot Emma Navarro or the Ukrainian Marta Kostjuk.
