Baby dies in house fire on Cleveland’s East Side

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A baby died and a man and woman were injured in a house fire on the city’s east side Thursday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the 13000 block of Marston Avenue around 10:30 a.m.

This is located in the Union Miles neighborhood.

According to the Cleveland Fire Department, the woman was injured when she jumped from the second-story porch.

The baby, a one-year-old girl, was found on the second floor. She succumbed to her injuries at MetroHealth Medical Center.

The male victim is in stable condition at MetroHealth Medical Center.

A neighbor reported hearing “popping” noises before the fire broke out.

The Cleveland Fire Department said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and damage is estimated at $200,000.
