US TV broadcast schedule for 2024-25 NHL season released

The introduction of one team and the debut of another in its new home will be shown as part of ESPN’s opening tripleheader on October 8.

The Florida Panthers, who won the Stanley Cup for the first time last season, will raise their championship banner before playing the Boston Bruins at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida (7 p.m. ET; ESPN, ESPN+).

This evening also marks the debut of the Utah Hockey Club, which will play its first game at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City against the Chicago Blackhawks (10 p.m. ET; ESPN, ESPN+).

The tripleheader begins with the St. Louis Blues playing the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle (4:30 p.m. ET; ESPN, ESPN+).

TNT begins its coverage with a doubleheader on Oct. 9. The first game features Artemi Panarin and the New York Rangers against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh (7:30 p.m. ET; TNT). The second game pits Hart Trophy winner Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche against Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (10 p.m. ET; TNT).

A total of 100 exclusive regular season games will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN+, ABC and Hulu starting October 8. The Stanley Cup playoffs and a conference final will also be broadcast.

TNT will broadcast 62 regular season games, as well as the 2025 Stanley Cup Final and half of the playoffs, including first and second round coverage and one conference final. All TNT coverage will be simulcast on truTV and available on Max’s B/R Sports add-on.

Other highlights of the national program include:

– Frozen Frenzy returns on October 22 with all 32 teams playing, including a nationally televised tripleheader: The Washington Capitals play the Philadelphia Flyers (6 p.m. ET; ESPN, ESPN+), the Avalanche play the Kraken (10:30 p.m. ET; ESPN, ESPN+) and the Los Angeles Kings play the Golden Knights (11 p.m. ET; ESPN, ESPN+).

– The Thanksgiving Showdown is on November 29 with the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Boston Bruins (6:30 p.m. ET; TNT, MAX), followed by the Avalanche at the Dallas Stars (8 p.m. ET; TNT, MAX).

– The Discover NHL Winter Classic takes place on Dec. 31 and features Jordan Kyrou and the Blues against 2023 Calder Trophy winner Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks at Wrigley Field in Chicago (5 p.m. ET; TNT, truTV, MAX).

— The 2025 4 Nations Face-off will be shown on ESPN, ABC and TNT. It begins with Sweden vs. Canada on February 12 (8 p.m. ET; TNT) and the USA vs. Finland on February 13 (8 p.m. ET; ESPN). There is a doubleheader on February 15 with Finland facing Sweden (1 p.m. ET, ABC, ESPN+) and the USA facing Canada (8 p.m. ET; ABC, ESPN+), then a Presidents’ Day doubleheader on February 17 with Finland facing Canada (1 p.m. ET; TNT), followed by Sweden vs. the USA (8 p.m. ET; TNT). The final is on February 20 (8 p.m. ET; ESPN).

– The 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series will be played March 1 (6 p.m. ET; ESPN) between the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
