The WWE Match Raj Dhesi [Jinder Mahal] Wanted, but never got the chance

Raj Dhesi, formerly known as Jinder Mahal, has revealed which fight he would have wanted in WWE if he had the chance.

During his numerous appearances with the company, Dhesi faced a number of top stars, including Roman Reigns, Kurt Angle, and his World Championship feud with Randy Orton in 2017. Additionally, Dhesi faced The Rock in the ring in early 2024, adding to his many highlights during his time with the promotion. Although Dhesi faced many big names, there was one match he wished he had made possible.

When asked by Bill Apter of Sportskeeda what match he would like to play if he returned to the company tomorrow, Dhesi stated without hesitation that it would be against the undisputed champion:

“Singles match with Cody Rhodes.”

When asked why, Dhesi replied that their styles fit well together and that Rhodes was the face of the company:

“Stylistically and character-wise, this is a good matchup for me. Not only that, but Cody is now the face of WWE. Yes, this is a match I wish I had the chance to be in.”

Later in the interview, the former world champion was asked by Apter to shoot a promo video for Rhodes in case The American Nightmare came across the interview:

“Cody, you are going down! Not by Solo Sikoa, but by Maharaja Raj Dhesi.”

Dhesi joked that it was a terrible promo offer because Apter embarrassed him.

Rhodes and Dhesi faced each other in the same fight on television nine times, but never in a one-on-one fight.

Raj Dhesi wins gold

After leaving WWE, The Maharaja is now finding success on the independent scene. Earlier this month, Raj Dhesi won gold while teaming with an AEW star.
