Coroner: Victim of Tuesday’s shooting identified as 18-year-old Fort Wayne man

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Allen County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the person killed in a shooting Tuesday night as an 18-year-old Fort Wayne man.

The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) said it was called to a shooting near East Lewis and Hanna streets around 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds at the Cap n’ Cork on East Lewis Street. They say he was taken to an area hospital in life-threatening condition.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office said Thursday that the man later died of his injuries at the hospital.

He was identified as 18-year-old Parker James Eugene Billman of Fort Wayne. His manner of death was ruled a homicide, marking the 29th homicide in Allen County this year.

The shooting is still under investigation.
