JD Vance makes big statements about his preparation for the debate with his rival Tim Walz: “The way I feel…”

JD Vance made an important claim ahead of his first vice presidential debate with Democratic candidate Tim Walz.

JD Vance said he did not have to prepare for a debate with Tim Walz, adding that what helped him most was the time he spent with the American people.

Vice presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will host a debate in New York on October 1, moderated by CBS News.

When asked by reporters about his preparation for the crucial debate, the Ohio senator said he did not need to prepare for a debate with Walz, adding that the time he spent with the American people helped him the most.

“I prepare for debates by spending time with these great people – that’s how I prepare for debates,” he said Wednesday at a campaign rally in Erie, Pennsylvania.

“Go out, talk to people, talk about the issues that matter,” he added.

Trump’s vice presidential candidate claimed that “we don’t need to prepare for a debate with the Democratic candidate,” but added: “We need to go out and talk to the American people. That’s the best way to prepare for the debate on October 1.”

Vance vs. Walz: What are the terms and rules for the debate?

Vance and Walz agreed to face each other less than two weeks ago. Their agreement came after CBS News issued an invitation to the debate and suggested four possible dates: September 17, September 24, October 1 and October 8.

While Walz said, “See you on October 1st, JD,” the Harris-Walz campaign team responded with the joke, “When he shows up.”

When asked by CBS, Vance stated on the show “X” that the American people have a right to see as many debates as possible and even noted that Trump had already challenged his rival Harris to three debates.

He accepted both the CBS debate on October 1 and the CNN debate on September 18. “I look forward to seeing you at both,” he wrote, referring to his opponent Vance.

When CNN asked Vance about the policies and conditions he and his team had asked for during the debates, he claimed he was “not really asking for much.”

He simply called on them to ensure that they were given the opportunity for a genuine exchange of views.

“That was my only instruction, and I told my staff, ‘Agree to whatever we have to agree to,’ because I think it’s important to be able to stand before the American people again and actually ask for their vote, not just pretend to get it.”

Vance will most likely clash with him over his military career, which came under fire after he accused the Democrat of lying about his combat deployment and “abandoning” his unit.
