Nic Nemeth on his feelings before his match with Josh Alexander at TNA iMPACT – PWMania

TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth spoke to Fightful about a number of topics, including being able to take part in a much longer match than he did in WWE.

Nemeth said, “I think so. On TV. I try to imagine there are some half Ironmans. Survivor Series, for example, was about an hour, but I wasn’t there the whole time. There were other guys and stuff. So this is going to be a full hour, and someone like me who maybe two, three, five years ago thought I could go two hours if I wanted to. In the last year or two in New York, I’ve only had three- and four-minute fights. So no matter how much cardio I did, if I got six or eight minutes on TV, that’s great. But no matter how much cardio you do and what you do, it’s not the same as ring time. So last week I was pretty nervous when it ended up being 30 minutes. I was like, ‘Man, I hope I can go on. I talked a lot of crap.’ I’m in the best shape of my life. I train every day, no matter what. I thought, ‘I hope I still have it,’ and at the end I thought, ‘Okay, I’m fine.’ I was nervous because I’d been in a bubble for 20 years and I wanted to see if I could get along with people outside of that bubble. Can I make a difference? Can I be as good as the bullshit I’ve been saying? So far, yes.”

About Josh Alexander:

“Josh is somebody that when I famously didn’t watch wrestling for a while because I hated what I was doing, when I started coming to TNA and doing independent matches, he picked up what he was doing and that’s like his thing is an Ironman, a non-stop buzzsaw guy that can go and I think that’s a hell of a challenge, I’m really looking forward to it because it really shows that it’s not ‘can I compete?’ it’s ‘can I get an A++ in the Ironman match and the first one I really do?’ So it’s a lot of pressure but I love it and I live for it and it’s not going to let up and I’m really looking forward to it.”
