Although Florida State and Georgia Tech have already played each other in Dublin, the college football season officially starts in Week 1 and the ACC has a full schedule of games.

The highlight of the ACC schedule in Week 1 is a clash of top-25 heavyweights in Atlanta at the Aflac Kickoff between No. 14 Clemson and No. 1 Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Although the outcome of this game has nothing to do with the Tigers’ league standings, it is an early test for Clemson, which is looking to return to the College Football Playoff this season.

Although Clemson and Georgia are 76.8 miles apart, this will be the first time the two teams have played each other since 2021. According to BetMGM odds, the Bulldogs are -13.5 favorites against the Tigers as of Tuesday.

The other top game on the Week 1 schedule is Miami, which renews an in-state rivalry with Florida on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. It’s the first time both programs have faced each other since 2019 and a rivalry in which Florida holds a one-game lead in the all-time series record at 74-73.

ACC newcomers Stanford and Cal will each begin their time in the ACC with home games. The Cardinal will host Big 12’s TCU on Friday in what could be considered the new “ACC After Dark” — an homage to the well-known “Pac-12 After Dark” — as Stanford’s kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Golden Bears will welcome UC Davis to California Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Florida State will have played two ACC games by the end of Week 1, as the Seminoles host Boston College at 7:30 p.m. ET on Labor Day at Doak S. Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee. The Seminoles will look to avoid starting 0-2 in ACC play for the third time in the Mike Norvell era. FSU started 0-2 in ACC play in Norvell’s first two seasons in 2020 and 2021.
