Herkimer College appoints assistant professor of criminal justice and forensic investigations

Michael A. Masi has been appointed assistant professor of criminal justice and forensic investigations at Herkimer College.

Masi previously served as the director of the Pre-Employment Police Academy since 2018. In 1992, Masi became a police officer with the City of Little Falls, where he rose to the rank of police chief in 2008. He retired from the Little Falls Police Department in 2019. He served as the director of the Little Falls Police Academy from 2000 to 2018 and was instrumental in establishing the Phase 1 Pre-Employment Police Academy at Herkimer College in 2018. Masi has also taught at numerous other academies in New York State and is a member of the New York State Law Enforcement Training Directors Association.

Masi received his associate degree in criminal justice from Herkimer College.
