Notre Dame hockey schedule complete: Wisconsin comes on November 1st and 2nd

SOUTH BEND – The Big Ten Conference has released its schedule for the 2024-25 season, and Notre Dame will open and close its portion of the schedule with home series against Wisconsin and Michigan State.

Coach Jeff Jackson, who announced in June that the upcoming season will be his 20th.th and last behind the Irish bench (he will be replaced by former Irish player and current associate head coach Brock Sheehan), his team will open the Big Ten portion of its 34-game schedule with a series on Friday/Saturday, November 1-2, against the Wisconsin Badgers at the Lefty Smith Rink at Compton Family Ice Arena.

The Irish will conclude their 24-game league schedule when the Spartans come to South Bend for a two-game series Friday/Saturday, February 28-March 1.

Kickoff times have not yet been announced for Notre Dame’s 18 home games, including an exhibition match against the visiting U.S. National Team Development Program team on Sunday, October 6. The Irish will then fly to upstate New York to begin the regular season with non-conference games at St. Lawrence (October 11) and Clarkson (October 12) before returning home to play home non-conference games against Alaska (October 18-19) and Long Island (October 25-26).

After their first home series against Wisconsin, the Irish will travel to Michigan (November 8-9) and Michigan State (November 15-16) before returning to Compton to play Minnesota (November 22-23).

The Irish will then fly to Belfast, Northern Ireland, to compete in the Friendship Four tournament on Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30. The Irish will play their opening game against Harvard, and then face either Boston University or Merrimack the next night.

After a weekend off to start December, Notre Dame finishes its pre-Christmas schedule with a Big Ten series against Ohio State on December 13 and 14.

The Irish open the 2025 portion of their schedule with a league series against Penn State. The first game will be played outdoors at Wrigley Field on Friday, Jan. 3, with kickoff at 8:30 p.m. ET. The teams will then finish the series on Sunday, Jan. 5, in South Bend. That will be followed by a home series against Michigan (Jan. 10-11) and a road series against Minnesota (Jan. 17-18) before the Irish close out their non-league schedule with a two-game series against Lindenwood on Jan. 24-25.

The Irish begin February with a two-game league series against visiting Ohio State (February 7-8) before road trips to Penn State (February 14-15) and Wisconsin (February 21-22) before closing out the regular season against the visiting Spartans.

The Big Ten playoffs begin March 7-9 with best-of-three quarterfinal series. The semifinals will be on Saturday, March 15, and the finals will be on Saturday, March 22.
