The SEC somehow became an even more competitive football conference after Oklahoma and Texas left the Big 12 and joined the SEC earlier this year.

The Longhorns finished No. 4 in the AP preseason Top 25 poll, the second-highest ranking of any SEC team, trailing only No. 1 Georgia. The Sooners, on the other hand, finished No. 16 in the poll, putting them in position to potentially blow up the newly expanded College Football Playoff party.
