‘It’s happening’: UFC fans decode Conor McGregor’s sneaky emoji after Dana White’s fight news teaser

UFC fans have been through a rollercoaster of emotions this year when it comes to Conor McGregor. After his fight at UFC 303 was canceled, it seemed uncertain whether he would even compete in 2024. However, a recent update from Dana White has given new hope to fans who have been anxiously awaiting news since mid-June.

When the UFC boss hosted an Instagram Live after a PowerSlap event and answered a series of questions that fans asked him. For most At the top of the list was McGregor and an update on his situation. Then White mentioned:

“…We talked about Conor today. There will be news about Conor soon…”

McGregor is arguably the best there ever was when it comes to keeping his fans’ attention on what he’s up to next. “The Notorious” took to Twitter to add fuel to the fire of speculation that White had sparked.

The 36-year-old Irish superstar tweeted a single winking face emoji that sent fans into a frenzy as they were convinced that a fight announcement was imminent. Needless to say, fans were overjoyed at the subtle hint. Here are some of the best reactions to McGregor’s cryptic tweet.

One fan said with certainty: “It happens.”

“Are you coming back or what?”– asked a fan in response to McGregor.

“Surprise, surprise, the king is back”– said one fan, quoting McGregor’s line after his victory over Nate Diaz in the rematch at UFC 202.

Another fan added: “I can’t wait, champ.”

The former double champion’s tweet could be about anything and not necessarily his next move in the UFC, but fans are hoping it’s a fight announcement coming soon.

Will McGregor end the year with a bang?

As for PPV events, the UFC has the rest of the year scheduled except for the last two events. In November, the UFC will head to Madison Square Garden, where Jon Jones will headline, and in December, McGregor will headline the year-end card.

For fans, this will be a dreamland: Jon Jones and Conor McGregor ending a year of incredible fights. Most are hoping that White and McGregor will finally come to an agreement and the fight will take place in 2024 rather than early 2025. At this point, all we can do is wait and watch.
