Police investigate shooting during serious robbery

JONESBORO, Arkansas (KAIT) – Police are investigating after gunfire erupted between a suspect and a homeowner during a robbery.

Jonesboro Police Department spokesperson Sally Smith told K8 News that they received a call at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, about shots fired during an aggravated robbery at a home in the 1700 block of Wembleton Drive.

She said the suspect shot at the homeowner and the homeowner shot back.

The homeowner’s vehicle was struck by several bullets, but no injuries were reported.

Smith said it is unclear if the suspect has been caught. Officers are en route to various locations and the Criminal Investigation Division is on scene.
