Body found in Geneva County triggers death investigation

GENEVA COUNTY, Alabama (WTVY) – A body discovered in Geneva County sparked a death investigation.

The body was discovered Tuesday morning in the 1300 block of Grady Garner Road in Slocomb.

Geneva County Coroner Donny Adkinson confirmed the identity of the deceased as Benito Morales Guzman, 41, of Fadette Township. He was pronounced dead at his home.

Adkinson said the death is being investigated as a homicide and the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.

The body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
