SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA football season has begun and the athletic department has released the following information for fans planning to attend the Roadrunners’ first home game against Kennesaw State on Saturday, August 31st, with kickoff at 2:30 p.m. in the Alamodome.

ORANGE OUT
We’re kicking off this season in ORANGE style. Fans are encouraged to wear orange at the home opener as well as the Friday before the game to show their support for the Roadrunners. If you don’t have your orange gear yet and are wondering “Where can I go?”, don’t worry. The Rowdy Campus Store is here for you. Head to the UTSA Student Union and pick up your orange game day gear to show your UTSA spirit.

GREETINGS TO THE TEACHERS
As part of UTSA’s Salute to Hometown Heroes series this season, the home game against Kennesaw State has been designated as Salute to Educators. UTSA will recognize and celebrate the educators in our lives during the game and is pleased to offer a special buy-one-ticket-for-one offer to local teachers and UTSA faculty. Please use your ISD or UTSA email to complete your purchase or call the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-8872.

TICKETS
Tickets are available by calling or texting 210-458-UTSA (8872) or by visiting ticketmaster.com. UTSA has transitioned to digital tickets through Account Manager. For more information, visit goutsa.com/tickets.

All students currently enrolled at UTSA are eligible for free admission to all home games. UTSA students may purchase up to four guest passes for seating in the student section.

For direct sales, the Alamodome Southwest box office opens at 10:00 a.m. and all other Alamodome box offices open at 11:30 a.m. Customer service desks are located at the Northeast and Southeast box offices.

GUIDELINES FOR CLEAR BAGS
The Alamodome Clear Bag Policy is in effect all season.

ALAMODOME ENTRANCE
Fans are encouraged to plan ahead, arrive early to ensure parking is available, or use VIA’s Park & ​​Ride. For information on downtown street and lane closures, visit sanantonio.gov.

Admission for the public from 1 p.m. Please enter the stadium in good time before kick-off to avoid long queues.

Fast track lanes are available at security checkpoints for those without baggage. Please take out your keys, phone and wallet before approaching the scanners.

Please have your tickets ready or download them to your phone with the screen brightness set to maximum before heading to the door.

SEATING FOR STUDENTS
General student seating will be available in sections 122-131. To accommodate the increased student population, sections 310-314 will be opened for general student seating. The band Spirit of San Antonio will occupy sections 127-128.

PARK
Parking in the Alamodome’s A, B and C lots and the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC) lots is limited to fans who have already purchased permits. The Alamodome’s A, B and C lots will open at 8:00 a.m. and the ITC lots will open at 11:30 a.m. for those who have valid parking permits. Please DO NOT enter the lots prior to the scheduled opening time or staff will ask you to vacate your spot(s) and re-enter once the lots open. The Alamodome lots will close one hour after the game ends for tailgating.

Limited ADA parking is available in Lot A on a first-come, first-served basis. State law prohibits veterans with a disability plate who do NOT have a valid state-issued disability placard from parking in ADA spaces. The disability plate and the state-issued ADA accessibility placard are two different terms.

There are several metered public parking lots near the Alamodome and downtown San Antonio. For information on available parking in downtown, visit sanantonio.gov.

Tailgate
Parking at the Alamodome opens at 8 a.m. and closes one hour after the game ends. Tailgating is not permitted in the ITC parking lots. For more information and City of San Antonio policies on tailgating, visit goUTSA.com.

Carpooling
The drop-off and pick-up location for rideshare users is in Parking Lot D adjacent to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center at the corner of Montana Street and Tower of Americas Way.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Via offers round-trip park and ride service to the Alamodome for just $2.60. Service to all UTSA home games is available from Crossroads Park & ​​Ride three hours before game time, and return service runs one hour after each game.

A reduced fare of $1.30 round trip (two one-way trips at 0.65¢ each) is available for children ages 5-13, seniors ages 62 and older, Medicare recipients, people with disabilities, and students with a valid VIA ID.

Purchase tickets in advance through VIA’s goMobile+ app, which is free to download on Apple and Android devices. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the Crossroads Park & ​​Ride location on game day.

UTSA students can use their U-Pass for game service. VIAtrans customers and children under 5 ride free. VIA bus passes are not valid for this service. VIA’s Day Pass, 7-Day Pass, 31-Day Pass and U-Pass are valid for Special Event Service.

HEY, UTSA! (STUDENT TRANSPORT)
New this year for students and their guests: IKEA will post signs at the North Paseo Bus Oval and the Alamodome with pick-up and drop-off locations for the free shuttle service to and from the Alamodome for home games. Shuttles to the Alamodome will begin running at 11:30 a.m. Passengers will be dropped off at the Robert Thompson Transit Station at the Alamodome, where the return trip will begin at the start of the fourth quarter, with the last shuttle departing one hour after the end of the game.

UTSA ROADRUNNERS MOBILE APP
The UTSA Roadrunners mobile app is brand new. The app allows UTSA fans to enjoy a personalized mobile experience and manage tickets, purchase official UTSA Athletics merchandise, and receive breaking news and score alerts for the teams they follow. Visit the App Store or Google Play and search for “UTSA Roadrunners.”

To participate in the Rowdy Light Show during the introductions, download the UTSA Roadrunner app, click on the MORE Menu option below, then click Wild light show and accept all permissions.

ROWDY TOWN LIVE AT HEB PLAZA
The hotel is located in the HEB Plaza and on the VIA Bridge on the north side of the Alamodome. Rowdy City live begins at 11:30 a.m. and is free for all UTSA fans as they can participate in pre-game festivities including:

  • Live performance by country artist Jerry DeLeon & Southbound from 12:30 p.m.

MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE

  • Ghost walk will be held at 12:30 p.m. UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor and the football team will walk from Cherry Street down Roadrunner Alley, located between parking lots B and C. Rowdy the Roadrunner, UTSA Cheer and the Spirit of San Antonio (SOSA) band will welcome the team as they walk down the path and into the Alamodome before the game.
  • Fans can purchase the latest UTSA clothing and accessories at Rowdy Campus Storewhich will be located next to Roadrunner Alley, which is located between parking lots B and C. Merchandise sales counters will also be located in the Alamodome on the plaza-level concourses near sections 106 and 118.
  • UTSA students can network, cool down and improve the mood before the game in the Indoor tailgate party for UTSA students. It’s a great way to meet new people while having all the fun of a tailgate party. Free food and drinks (while supplies last) will be available. Join DJ Wynkoop and QuickStrike Entertainment for some pre-game fun and excitement. Remember, it’s always 72 degrees in the Alamodome!
  • UTSA Alumni Party before the game — The party kicks off Saturday, August 31 at The Espee. Come enjoy great food, ice cold drinks, live music, exclusive giveaways and appearances by SOSA, UTSA Cheer and our beloved mascot Rowdy. BROADCAST INFORMATION
