Charles Oliveira admits he is “eager to fight” before his UFC return: “Soon the lightweight lion will go hunting!”

Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is ready to return to the cage.

“Do Bronx” has not been seen in the cage since a fight with Arman Tsarukyan in April at UFC 300. The contest was scheduled as a title eliminator and Charles Oliveira was hoping for a rematch against Islam Makhachev. However, the Brazilian lost by split decision, missing his chance to recapture the gold he lost in 2022.

Since then, the lightweight contender hasn’t planned a return to the cage. In fact, Charles Oliveira has hinted that his next fight could be at 170 pounds. Names like Colby Covington have challenged the former champion, but nothing has come of it. It also seems that Oliveira is tired of being on the sidelines.

Earlier today, Charles Oliveira took to social media to speak out. On Instagram, the former UFC lightweight champion wrote a long post about his return to the cage. In the caption of the post, the Brazilian explained that he appreciates the support of the fans and hopes to book his next fight soon.

Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira talks about his planned return

Charles Oliveira has been talking about more than just a move to welterweight lately. Earlier this month, the former lightweight champion was asked about a possible fight against Alexander Volkanovski. Just like Oliveira, “The Great” wants a fresh start after losing his featherweight gold to Ilia Topuria in February.

Well, the Brazilian would love to welcome the Australian to the 155-pound division. Earlier this month, Charles Oliveira stated that a fight against the former champion would be an honor and that he welcomed the duel. Although there have been some rumors on social media about the two facing off in November, the fight is far from official.

Nevertheless, the 34-year-old seems ready to return to the cage. As one of the most exciting fighters in the lightweight division, Charles Oliveira is now ready for the hunt.

What do you think of these comments from the former UFC lightweight champion? Who would you like to see Charles Oliveira fight next?
