Lucas Oil Late Models Labor Day Weekend Schedule and Preview

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series kicks off Labor Day weekend with a Saturday-Sunday doubleheader at Portsmouth Raceway Park and Tyler County Speedway on August 31 and September 1.

Schedule for the Lucas Oil Late Models at Portsmouth Raceway Park

The action begins on Saturday, August 31, when the tour returns to Portsmouth Raceway Park for the River Days Rumble. The event features a full show with Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and a 50-lap main race with a $15,000 purse. Saturday’s racing action at Portsmouth Raceway Park also includes a full schedule for the Sport Modified division.

The pit gate at Portsmouth Raceway Park opens at 2:00 p.m., general admission gate opens at 4:00 p.m. Hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m. with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Schedule for the Lucas Oil Late Models Hillbilly Hundred at Tyler County Speedway

On Sunday, September 1, teams will travel to Tyler County Speedway for the 56th Annual Hillbilly Hundred – presented by Arizona Sport Shirts. America’s oldest running dirt late model crown jewel includes a full schedule of: Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and a 100-lap main race with a $30,000 purse. The Ohio Valley Legend Car Series, RUSH Dirt Late Model Series and SCDRA 4-Cylinders will also compete at Tyler County Speedway on Sunday, September 1.

The pit gate closes at 1:30 p.m. and reopens at 2:00 p.m. General admission gates open at 2:00 p.m. On-track racing action begins at 6:00 p.m. with hot laps for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Where is Tyler County Speedway?

Tyler County Speedway, better known as “America’s Baddest Bullring”, is a 2,000-foot (600-meter) bullring located three miles south of Middlebourne, West Virginia, at the Tyler County Fairgrounds on State Route 18. Just 18 miles (29 kilometers) east of the Ohio River, halfway between Parkersburg to the south and Wheeling to the north.
