Chicago police release photos of South Loop shooting suspect who allegedly shot man at White Palace Grill on Canal Street

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police on Wednesday released surveillance camera images of a man wanted in connection with a shooting in the South Loop last week.

It happened early Friday morning at the White Palace Grill in the 1100 block of South Canal Street.

According to police, delegates to the Democratic National Convention were eating in the building when a man entered, got into an argument with another 42-year-old man and then fired several shots at him.

The victim, who was leaving the restaurant at the time of the shooting, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

According to CPD, the shooting suspect was wearing a T-shirt that read “OFFICER” and was driving north in a silver Ford Focus.

He is described as a 25 to 35 year old man, 1.70 to 1.80 meters tall and weighing between 68 and 90 kilos.

In addition to the T-shirt, he wore a blue baseball cap, a black vest, an apparent security badge, blue jeans with black and gold stripes along the seam, and white sneakers.
