The devil in disguise is on its way to Peacock, and five actors have been cast for the scripted dramatization inspired by the streaming service’s 2021 documentary series.

According to Deadline, Gabriel Luna, James Badge Dale, Michael Angarano, Chris Sullivan and Marin Ireland have been cast in the series, which will focus on the aftermath of sex offender and serial killer John Wayne Gacy. He raped, tortured and murdered at least 33 young men and boys in a community near Chicago. Gacy became known as the “Killer Clown” due to his public appearances as a clown before his crimes were discovered.

The following was announced about the actors’ roles:

“Luna will play Detective Rafael Tovar; Dale will play Chief of Detectives Joe Kozenczak; Angarano will play Sam Amirante; Sullivan will play Lead District Attorney Bill Kunkle; Ireland will play Elizabeth Piest.

The Peacock series will examine both Gacy’s life and the lives of his victims. “It will explore the grief, guilt and trauma of their families and friends and expose the systemic failures, missed opportunities and societal prejudices that fueled his reign of terror.”

The premiere date for The devil in disguise will be announced later.
