US Open releases viral video that appears to show a date gone wrong

They didn’t have to do that to him.

The account “US Open X” brutally mocked a male spectator who was apparently stood up by a woman in the stands at Louis Armstrong Stadium on Monday night to give him a Honey Deuce drink.

A video of the awkward interaction shows the man returning to his seat with two of the tournament’s signature drinks and then seemingly attempting to pass one to the woman seated next to him.

But then another man came in and handed the smiling blonde a Honey Deuce drink.

“This is cinema,” wrote the US Open X account, attaching a video of the now viral interaction.

Cameras captured the moment when American Frances Tiafoe took a 30-0 lead against Aleksandar Kovacevic in the second set with the score at 1-1.

The man, who still had two drinks left, glanced at the woman and appeared confused as he sat down.

It is unclear whether they knew each other.

All three people involved in the interaction appeared to be wearing wedding rings, while a fourth woman appeared at the edge of the screen.

Some couldn’t resist making jokes about it.

“Next level friendzoning,” one person wrote.

“This is a horror movie,” added another.

“The Real Housewives of Flushing, NY,” said someone else.

The Honey Deuce – which has increased in price this year and has become a cash cow for the US Open – is a refreshing take on raspberry lemonade.

It contains Grey Goose vodka, fresh lemonade, premium raspberry liqueur and honeydew melon balls as garnish.
