Investigation update: On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at around 12:15 p.m., members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 17-year-old male youth, in the area of ​​4 Olde Derby Road, Norwood. The residence was secured pending a search warrant. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a Dorchester Juvenile Court warrant for possession of firearms, carrying without a permit, carrying loaded weapons, ammunition without an FID card, discharging firearms within 500 feet of buildings, and five counts of assault with a firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.

Detectives from District B-3 (Mattapan) executed a search warrant in the area of ​​4 Olde Derby Road, Norwood. As a result of the search warrant, detectives recovered a firearm containing a Glock 43X upper and Polymer 80 lower, along with two fully loaded magazines. Detectives will be seeking additional weapons charges.

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, at approximately 12:57 p.m., officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested a 17-year-old male adolescent for possession of a firearm in the Castlegate Road area. After further investigation, investigators were able to identify the suspect as one of the wanted suspects in a July shooting incident. He was charged with carrying a firearm without a permit, carrying a firearm without a permit, carrying a loaded weapon, ammunition without an FID card, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and five counts of assault with a firearm. He was arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.

The facts and circumstances of the previous incident are as follows: On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at approximately 9:48 p.m., officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of ​​10 Greenwood Street for a report of multiple people being shot. Upon arrival, officers found five victims with gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
