Grand Designs 25th Anniversary Special Air Date Confirmed: Series Returns

Channel 4 has confirmed the release date for its upcoming Grand Designs special, Grand Designs: 25 Years & Counting, and we don’t have to wait long before it hits our screens.

The episode will air on Channel 4 on Wednesday, September 11, 9 p.m.and is about to start a brand new season.

The moderator will of course be Kevin McCloud, who will experience some of the most famous and also most challenging buildings in the series in the special broadcast.

“With the most ambitious builds and most touching human dramas, the biggest budget overruns and catastrophic delays in the mix, this special celebrates a true Channel 4 gem in its momentous anniversary year,” Channel 4 said shortly after announcing the special.

We can assume that among them there are some that cost their ambitious owners more than just money.

Viewers will remember places like Chesil Cliff House in Cornwall or St. Martin’s Church in West Yorkshire, where the featured couples got divorced.

Following the special, an eight-episode season will air in which McCloud will embark on a number of new construction sites, including converting a childhood home into a health and wellness resort and redesigning a water tower that will intimidate even experienced builders.

Let’s hope their owners are doing better than some of their predecessors.
