Central Douglas Fire & Rescue responds to garage fire, all occupants safe

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Oregon — According to Central Douglas Fire & Rescue (CDFR), a garage fire in the Green District in central Douglas County has caused significant damage.

The district says CDFR crews were dispatched to the area of ​​Sunburst Court near Ryland Drive in the Green District at around 4:08 p.m. after a fire was reported.

According to initial reports, the garage was on fire and the house was filling with smoke.

According to CDFR, firefighters were able to respond quickly and contain the fire to the garage, preventing it from spreading to the nearby house. A total of 12 people were deployed, including three fire trucks and two fire crews.

All occupants and their pets escaped the fire unharmed, according to Central Douglas Fire & Rescue. Due to the severe fire damage, emergency crews were unable to determine the cause of the fire.
