Donald Trump is again charged with election fraud, bringing the total number of charges to 92 in four cases

More election tampering charges have been brought against former President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump for attempting to change the outcome of the 2020 election. This latest charge was brought by federal prosecutors in Washington DC just weeks after the Supreme Court ruled that Trump enjoys immunity from prosecution in his capacity as President. However, the charges outlined in this latest indictment, which was presented to a grand jury, include evidence not previously tried in the January 6 insurrection case, as well as four additional charges related to his attempt to overturn the election results in Georgia and intimidate Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger into finding 11,000 additional votes that would make him the winner of Georgia’s presidential election.

The core charges in the Washington DC case remain the same: conspiracy to defraud the United States and disenfranchise millions of 2020 voters.

As of August 27, 2024, Donald Trump has been personally charged with 92 criminal offenses in four criminal cases. This total includes charges related to Trump’s attempts to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election, election tampering in Georgia, falsifying business records in New York, and misusing classified information after leaving the presidency. Donald Trump is the first former president in U.S. history to be criminally charged.

In New York, Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records. Prosecutors proved that Trump participated in an illegal conspiracy to rig the 2016 election by concealing the payment of hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels. He will be sentenced in September.

Just over a year ago (August 14, 2023), Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis officially filed a series of RICO charges against Trump and 16 of his associates on suspicion of involvement in election rigging.
