🏈 Good morning to everyone, but especially to…

THE TENNESSEE TITANS

On a day when there were many changes in the NFL, no one made a bigger step than the Tennessee Titans. The Titans moved quickly towards a strange situation between Ernest Jones IV and the Aries And acquired the outstanding linebacker for almost nothing Tuesday, giving their defense a big boost.

  • Two days ago it was reported that the Rams gave Jones permission to seek a tradethough he said he never asked for it. However, Jones, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, had sought an extension, and he and Los Angeles did not make much progress.
  • So Tennessee came, the got Jones and a sixth-round pick in exchange for a fifth-round pick. Even that is almost nothing for a major upgrade.
  • Jones, who is only 24 years old, had 145 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss last season. He also has a strong postseason record with seven tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss in Super Bowl LVI against the Bengal and nine tackles and two sacks in last year’s wildcard game against the Lions.

I don’t know if he can add anything to his resume this year – I still have questions about Will Levis — but there is no doubt that the Titans have done a great job of enhancing their talent this season: Jones, L’Jarius Sneed And T’Vondre Sweat in defense and Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard, JC Latham And Lloyd Cushmanberry III on offense. I’m starting to get used to Tennessee in the first year under the new coach Brian Callahanand that reinforces this feeling.

NFL PLAYERS WHO HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED

The worst day on the NFL calendar is over and like every year there was plenty of carnage as teams reduced their rosters to 53 players. We have a Complete cuts tracker for each team, Findings from the day of the roster cut and here are some notable names looking for a new home.

Tyler Sullivan played Matchmaker for discarded players and new teams – the rosters will continue to evolve in the coming days – and here is one of my favorite compilations.

  • Sullivan: “Samaje Perine — Perine remains a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield in his 29th season. … Last season he caught 50 of his 56 passes for 455 yards. … Possible landing spot: Packers. With the news that running back AJ Dillon gone for the year, it makes too much sense for Green Bay. Perine could be an ideal addition to a weakened backfield behind Josh Jacobs to work in passing situations.”

Meanwhile, Cody Benjamin looked Quarterbacks looking for a new homeAs for quarterbacks not looking for a new home, one of Garrett Podell’s Key findings was the Falcons keep three signal generators.

🏈 Classification of CFP title contenders

One of the biggest benefits of the College Football Playoff expansion, in my opinion, is that it creates more magic in the postseason. The BCS required a game to win. The CFP required two wins until this season. This year, it requires at least three and possibly even four, similar to the NFL playoffs. We get a lot more championship-deciding games without losing the importance of the regular season.

We have already discussed who our experts think will make it. But who is as close to a castle as possible? Who is behind it and who is on the edge? Who is lurking in the shadows? Will Backus The race was divided into four classesand the top division – the projected conference champions – is full of β€œbig dogs” … and β€œdawgs.”

  • Georgiaβ€œThe Bulldogs are as strong as ever in their defense. Now they can build on that with a likely first-round pick at quarterback in Carson Beckarguably the best offensive line in the country and some tremendous talent.”
  • Ohio State“Trainer Ryan Day welcomes a high-quality transfer class and convinces University of California trainer Chip Kelly to quit his job and join the team as offensive coordinator.”
  • ClemsonState of Florida was the preseason favorite to win the ACC, but the Seminoles have already lost in Week 0 against Georgia Tech Institute.”
  • Utahβ€œSeventh-year quarterback Cam rises is back to lead the offense while the defense features one of the best front sevens in the Big 12.”

Meanwhile, in the outsider category, Will takes on…

  • Backus:Tennessee: There is a lot of optimism in Knoxville, especially thanks to the new starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava and the presence of real superstars like Edge Rusher James Pearce Jr. trainer Josh Heupel has a very deep roster to work with besides those two that could take the Vols pretty far.”

Remember, there is also a guaranteed place in the Group of Five, and Will has Top contenders for the.

This WNBA season has been fantastic, and that’s thanks to many players and many factors. The recognition is long overdue, but there’s no doubt that the rookie class helped move things along. Caitlin Clark And Angel Reese are in a battle for the title of Rookie of the Year for eternity.

On the one hand you have Clark, who already broke the rookie assist recordIs on track to break the WNBA assist record for a season and will probably break the rookie 3-point record tonightShe has the Fever just before their first playoff spot since 2016.

On the other hand, you have Reese well on the way to breaking several rebound records and becomes first player in league history with three consecutive games with 20 reboundsShe has also just Fire Reebok linefor Isabel Gonzalez the Insider informationLike the fever that Heaven would be in the playoffs if they started today.

So who will take first place in Isabels Rookie rankings? It’s close, but Isabel says…

  • Gonzalez:1. Caitlin Clark — Clark sank four 3-pointers in [Monday’s] Game that they play with Dream guard Richard R. for the rookie record of 85 in a season. Clark is right behind the Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride total 3-pointers made this season (87). … And as if that wasn’t enough, Clark is the only guard in the league to have 25+ steals and 25+ blocks this season.”

And this rookie class does not only consist of two players. Rickea Jackson Is comes strong in Los Angeles.
