Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra leaks: Slim display with rounded edges and comprehensive design overhaul expected

Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to unveil its Galaxy S25 Ultra early next year, but anticipation of the flagship’s new design is already causing excitement online.

Initial leaks based on CAD renders surfaced back in March, and now new images have surfaced that provide a closer look at the device’s side profile. The latest renders suggest that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature rounded edges and flat sides, a design departure from its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Notably, the device appears to retain a cutout for a selfie camera at the top center of the display.

Now, renowned informant Ice Universe has released these alleged renders of X, giving a taste of what Samsung might have in store. The images show the phone with narrow bezels and a punch-hole display with flat sides, reminiscent of the design language of recent Meizu smartphones. The rounded corners in particular are said to improve the ergonomic comfort of the device and make it easier to hold.

Previous reports from the same source suggested that the Galaxy S25 Ultra would adopt a more curved design, signaling a significant shift for Samsung. This move would mark a departure from the boxy aesthetic that has characterized the Ultra models of the S series since the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

In addition to the design leaks, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, along with its siblings – the standard Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ – were recently spotted on Samsung’s OTA servers. These models are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC and could come with a host of AI-powered features. The official announcement of the trio is expected in early 2025.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is also rumored to come with 16GB of RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, along with an improved quad camera system. This setup is said to include a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP sensor with 5x optical zoom, and two additional 50MP ultra-wide and telephoto lenses. The device is also said to pack a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging.
