IHF Men’s Club World Championship 2024: Schedule published

After the draw for the 17th edition of the IHF Men’s Club World Championship took place in the Egyptian city of New Alamein on Wednesday, August 21, the schedule for the most important club competition in handball in the world has now been published.

The preliminary round will take place on 27, 28 and 29 September, with matches on the first day scheduled for 15:00 EEST (14:00 CEST), 18:30 EEST (17:30 CEST) and 21:00 EEST (20:00 CEST).

Over the next two days, when the three European teams – including the most successful team in the competition’s history, FC Barcelona, ​​reigning champions SC Magdeburg and wildcard entrant Veszprém HC – enter the fray, matches will kick off at 15:00 EEST (14:00 CEST), 17:30 EEST (16:30 CEST) and 20:00 EEST (19:00 CEST).

The competition begins on Friday, September 27, when the debutants California Eagles, winners of the NACHC qualifiers, face Khaleej Club, the Saudi team participating in the IHF Men’s Club World Championship for the third consecutive year.

Hosts Al-Ahly will play against Sydney Uni, the Australian team participating for the eleventh time, and the day will be concluded with the Group A match between Handebol Taubaté and Zamalek SC.

There is a rest day between the preliminary round, semi-finals and placement matches, and the battle for the last two places will take place on Tuesday 1 October at 17:00 EEST (16:00 CEST) and 20:00 EEST (19:00 CEST).

The bronze medal match and the grand final of the 17th edition of the IHF Men’s Club World Championship, to be played at the New Administrative Capital Hall, which was already used during the 2021 IHF Men’s Club World Championship, are scheduled for Thursday, October 3, at 17:00 EEST (16:00 CEST) and 20:00 EEST (19:00 CEST).
