Miranda Maverick suggests Tracy Cortez leave false eyelashes at home for UFC Tampa

Miranda Maverick gave Tracy Cortez a warning before her upcoming fight.

Maverick and Cortez will face each other in a flyweight bout at UFC on ESPN 63 on December 14 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, marking the promotion’s first return to the city since 2019. The bout was first announced by Maverick and confirmed by several media outlets.

When announcing the fight, Maverick also warned her opponent against wearing false eyelashes. Cortez lost a unanimous decision to former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas last July at UFC Denver. During the fight, Namajunas also knocked off one of Cortez’s false eyelashes with one punch, a moment that was a meme for weeks after the fight. Maverick comes into the clash on a three-fight winning streak, while Cortez will be looking to rebound from a loss to Namajunas, which was her first defeat since turning pro in 2017.
