High school football team helps neighbors clean up after storm: “Incredibly grateful”

KEWAUNEE, Wis. (WBAY/Gray News) – Communities across northeast Wisconsin are struggling to recover after being hit by a series of severe storms this week.

Kewaunee was among the worst hit places in the region when strong winds swept through the area just before noon on Tuesday.

Student-athletes from the Kewaunee High School football team, aptly named “The Storm,” helped their neighbors in need.

Their efforts made a huge difference for many families, including Sara Miller, who was overwhelmed by the damage to her property.

“I am absolutely blown away by the high school football team’s accomplishment,” said Miller. “They turned what seemed like an overwhelming cleanup effort into a quick and efficient process. I am incredibly grateful! The Storm not only cleaned up after the storm, but also showed the true spirit of our incredible community.”

In Kewaunee and northeastern Wisconsin, people were picking up debris after a wave of storms hit Monday evening, with even worse weather conditions expected.
