1 seriously injured, 3 others injured in shooting in Kensington, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

Four people are in hospital following a shooting in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood on Tuesday evening.

Shortly after 9 p.m., officers heard several gunshots coming from the 3200 block of G Street, said Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The police were a block away, so they were able to respond within seconds and found four victims: two 20-year-old men, a 23-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman.

They were all taken to hospital. One of the 20-year-old men was shot at least six times in the body and is in critical condition.

The other three victims are in stable condition; they have gunshot wounds to their arms and legs but are expected to survive, Small said.

Police found 25 empty bullet casings at the intersection of G Street and Hilton Street.

Small said the shots were fired from an automatic or semi-automatic weapon.

“It’s normal for large groups to be in the area of G and Allegheny and G and Hilton, where this shooting occurred,” Small said.

There were real-time police crime cameras that captured the shooting. The vehicle the shooters were in, a four-door dark-colored sedan or Toyota, could be seen driving along Hilton Street before at least two people got out and began shooting before getting back in.

This was last seen traveling north on G Street from Hilton Street.

There were also several businesses in the area with outdoor cameras that were monitored by police, and there were many witnesses on site at the time of the incident, Small said.

Officials currently have no motive for the shooting.
