Special guest referee confirmed for Joe Hendry title fight in WWE

To close out NXT tonight, TNA wrestling star Joe Hendry delivered another iconic musical performance at his second WWE concert.

Hendry was shown backstage making his way to the ring, pausing to smile at a portrait of fellow Scot Drew McIntyre.

When the show returned from the commercial break, Joe Hendry had come to the ring for a final performance before Hendry’s big match at WWE No Mercy.

His song was supposed to include the striking lines “Ethan sucks, believe in Joe, Ethan, put some clothes on” after an embarrassing photo of Page from social media was shown on screen.

Page interrupted the concert to give his opinion before the two’s upcoming championship game.

Although the song was interrupted, the audience in the Performance Center continued to sing along as Page attacked Joe Hendry for showing “incriminating photos” of the champion.

Hendry earned a shot at the WWE NXT Championship when he faced “All Ego” Ethan Page at No Mercy.

Before the end of the show, however, another important detail was revealed when NXT GM Ava Page interrupted to inform him that the match would feature a special guest referee.

Trick Williams acted as referee and then counted a simulated pinfall three-count against Page while Joe Hendry gave a standing ovation.

After the duo of Williams and Hendry were shown celebrating, Pete Dunne spoke to the camera and told Trick he didn’t expect the former NXT Champion to “make it to next Tuesday.”

Additionally, during an emotionally charged segment between two former friends at WWE NXT tonight, numerous security guards were on hand to prevent anything from coming to blows between Wes Lee and TNA wrestling star Zachary Wentz.

In the end, despite there being no physical confrontation, the duo seemed to hurt each other as each threw personal punches in the exchange.

The pair will face each other at WWE NXT No Mercy as their match has been officially announced.
