The Oregon Football Club is ready to erase the memory of its only two losses during the 2023 football season.

With the Ducks moving up from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten, they enter the 2024 football season as favorites for the 12-team College Football Playoff and the conference championship. Oregon is the third-best team in the US LBM Coaches Poll, with Big Ten opponent Ohio State ranked No. 2 (Georgia of the SEC is No. 1).

Both of Oregon’s losses in 2023 have come at the hands of rival Washington — once in the regular season and once in the Pac-12 championship game — leaving the Ducks with no chance of a CFP berth in year two under coach Dan Lanning. With Oklahoma transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel an early favorite for the Heisman Trophy, Oregon is poised to make another jump under Lanning.

The Ducks open the season at home against Idaho on Saturday. Although they are no longer in the same division as rival Oregon, this season’s “Civil War” matchup will take place in Week 3. Oregon closes the season against rival Washington.
