Spoiler alert! Max Holloway promises better results than at UFC 300: “Wait until you see the result of UFC 308”

Max Holloway is a rare breed.

It seemed as if the Hawaiian had lost all hope of regaining his former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight title after losing three times to his former co-champion. Holloway, 32, dismantled the perennial 155-pound challenger and former interim champion over five rounds before winning the Baddest Motherf*cker (BMF) title via an insane last-second knockout (watch highlights). The surprise win has given Holloway another shot at featherweight gold, as he will challenge the champion, Ilia Topuriaat UFC 308 on October 26, 2024. This time too, “Blessed” promises to deliver fireworks.

“Everyone thought UFC 300 was great. Wait until they see the result of UFC 308, it’s going to be good,” Holloway said on his YouTube channel (h/t MMA Fighting).

“I can’t wait,” he continued. “I’ve worked hard over the last few years to reclaim my throne. A lot of people have laughed, but we’ll see who has the last laugh on October 26.”

If Holloway is successful at UFC 308, he would not only become a two-time UFC champion, but also put the first blemish on the flawless 15-0 record of the “Matador” Topuria. Despite having accomplished so much in his 33-fight career (26-7), the legend is taking things as seriously as ever going forward.

“Never give up,” Holloway said. “A lot of people said I wouldn’t be in this position, I wouldn’t be able to fight for the featherweight title again. And now I’m here and I can’t wait to get started. Camp is just starting, we’re getting to work and I’m excited.”

“I think this fight is the most anticipated fight of the year,” he continued. “A lot of people were looking forward to UFC 300, especially because of the participants, but [on] UFC 308, me and Ilia, main event. I think this is one of the most anticipated fights of the year and I can’t wait to go out there and show the world.”
