British Brooks is in the Houston Texans’ first 53-man squad

British Brooks continues to defy all adversities!

Fans of the UNC football program know Brooks’ story. He began his studies at the University of North Carolina as a walk-on and proved himself both on and off the field, eventually earning him a scholarship. Whether as a special teams player or in the backfield as a running back, Brooks made the most of every opportunity he was given and has now proven that at the next level.

Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Houston Texans, Brooks had to prove his worth again. And that’s exactly what he did, earning a spot on the Texans’ initial 53-man roster for the upcoming NFL season.

Versatility is an important trait NFL teams look for, as it is extremely valuable to have players who can fill multiple roles. Brooks can do just that, as he not only has plenty of experience on special teams, but he could also fill in as both a running back and a full back for the Texans all season.

Think about it: How many guys drafted this year even played a single snap on special teams during their college careers?

At this point, it’s safe to say you should never bet against British Brooks, as he has embraced and truly embraced the role of underdog. From rising through the college ranks to restarting the process now as a pro, Brooks isn’t content with just being on the roster – he wants to be on an NFL roster for a very long time.
