4 sex tips inspired by “Short N’ Sweet”

4 sex tips inspired by “Short N’ Sweet”

OK, is anyone else obsessed with Sabrina Carpenter’s new album? In case you missed it, the pop star has released her album Short and sweet on August 23rd, and the world hasn’t stopped listening to it since. And while the album spills a lot of tea and even casts a shadow on past lovers, Short and sweet is also full of sex tips.

From “Bed Chem” to “Juno,” Carpenter’s album contains numerous sex-positive anthems – and I’m not complaining. I had Short and sweet on repeat, and with each listen I’m more and more inspired to embrace my sexuality… and try some new things in the bedroom, too. Miss Carpenter may be a pop icon, but she could very well have a future as a sex coach. (My DMs are open for business collaborations—go ahead.)

If you want to experience the sexual energy of Short and sweet, then you have come to the right place. I have put together four sex tips, inspired by Short and sweet that might inspire you to get a little kinkier and a lot more playful when you’re with a partner (or two). Does anyone know where I can get a pair of fluffy pink handcuffs? I’m asking for a friend.

Try a new and perhaps wild position.

When having sex with a partner, it’s easy to fall into a routine – especially with the positions you choose. In the spirit of “Juno,” try out a few “freaky positions” with your partner the next time you have sex. This can be as simple as being on top, or you can get a little freaky with a more complex position like the downward thrust: Have your partner hold you upside down while you face away from them, with your head on the bed and your legs over their shoulders. Then they can penetrate from below.

Introduce some light bondage.

Bondage can be very intimidating for beginners, but it is Really Fun if you get used to it slowly. While you may not be ready to buy a sex swing or tie your partner up in wild knots, things like light restraints, vibrators, and blindfolds can really spice things up. And yes, that includes the fluffy pink handcuffs Carpenter alludes to in “Juno.”

Look at the oral phase from a different perspective.

Oral sex is cool—and it can feel even better when you get it from a different position. So take the lyrics of “Bed Chem” to heart and ask your partner to pleasure you from behind while you get on all fours and arch your back. (Extra points if your partner teases you above your underwear before pulling them down and getting started.)

Play with perfume.

“Soft skin and I perfumed it for you” is another great tip when it comes to the bedroom. Inspired by TikTok’s viral perfume hack, spray a little of your favorite scent on your ankles, neck, and hip bones before sex. This way, your partner can smell your signature scent while giving you pleasure, no matter where.

Kudos to you, Sabrina, for giving all of us horny girls the bedroom inspiration we’ve been waiting for.
