Mobile man pleaded guilty to shooting at Hungry Howies in Midtown

Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood announces that Marcus Rowe Jr. has pleaded guilty to the crimes of shooting into an inhabited structure and trespassing upon certain persons in connection with a February 2022 incident at Hungry Howies in Midtown Mobile.

On February 26, 2022, Marcus Rowe Jr. and a co-worker got into an argument that ended with Rowe pulling out a firearm and firing in the direction of his co-worker, eventually shooting into the Midtown restaurant. No one was injured in this incident.

On Tuesday morning, Marcus Rowe Jr. pleaded guilty to both crimes he was charged with before trial.

Judge Brooks sentenced Rowe to 20 years in prison, divided into five years in prison and five years probation.

“We are witnessing a disturbing rise in gun violence that threatens the safety and well-being of our communities,” said Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “This type of violence must end, and we must work toward a future where everyone can live without fear.”
