Fire investigation underway as owners of Juday Creek Golf Course plan reopening

Fire investigation underway as owners of Juday Creek Golf Course plan reopening

There is a lot of activity at the scene of Monday’s fire in the clubhouse of Juday Creek Golf Course in Granger.

Despite the owner’s best efforts, the course remains closed to golfers on Tuesday.

The owners provide information about the cause of the fire and what will happen next with the course.

Where the clubhouse once stood, it is surrounded by a fence.

It’s been 24 hours and firefighters are still spraying water on the embers, which shows just how intense the fire was.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and there has been speculation about how the fire started, but the owner of the square wants to put an end to the rumors.

Wittig posted on Facebook to dispel some of the rumors.

One of these rumors is that the fire was started by charging the golf cart batteries. This is not possible because the golf carts run on gasoline and many of them were already outside the building for an event.

Another rumor said that the fire could have been caused by fertilizers and chemicals, but these are stored in a completely different building on the other side of the race track.

“So there’s going to be quite a few hot spots today. We’re working with the insurance company to have them come out so we can do a coordinated investigation. It doesn’t look like a normal fire. We don’t see anything suspicious right now, but we need to do our due diligence and try to figure out the cause of the fire,” said Ron Melser, fire marshal for the Clay Fire Territory.

The golf course will not be open on Tuesday as the owners had hoped because some things still need to be done.

However, the owners say they are working on plans and the opening is imminent.
