Here’s what’s happening in Central Virginia over Labor Day weekend

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Summer is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean you can’t end it in style.

Labor Day is just around the corner and there will be plenty of events throughout Central Virginia.

In Louisa, the Labor Fest begins this Friday and lasts all weekend.

“So this is our inaugural event. This is something we want to do – bring (people) back to Mineral. Mineral used to be a mining town and they always had a Labor Day event there. So we’re trying to bring that history back to this town,” said Christina Miller, the town’s recreation director.

It’s all happening at Walton Park in Mineral, where you can enjoy days of fun, food and music. Of course there will also be things for the kids, craft vendors and more. Admission to this event is free. There will also be a craft market during the event.

“Get ready for a great time and pack your bags, pack a lawn chair. We’re going to have a concert,” Miller said.

There are events every weekend in Richmond.

The Kabana Rooftop is hosting its Sunset Sundays, but in honor of the holiday, it’s all white, so wear your best all-white outfit and get ready to dance and party the night away. This event requires smart attire and tickets.

Later in the evening there is a Silent Party at Stadium Richmond where DJs vie for your attention, each bringing a different sound and energy.

This event allows you to adjust the volume of your headphones so you don’t have to worry about your ears ringing when you leave.

You will also need tickets to this event. To obtain these and for more information about these events as well as a list of other events in the area, visit their website.
