Nomad launches Rocky Point Apple Watch Band with comfortable and durable design

Nomad launches Rocky Point Apple Watch Band with comfortable and durable design

Nomad recently released limited editions of its popular sport band. Now the company is presenting a completely new design for the Apple Watch with the Rocky Point Band. Although it was developed specifically for the Apple Watch Ultra, it also fits any 45/44 mm model of the Apple Watch.

The Rocky Point Apple Watch Band features a comfortable and durable construction with lightweight yet sturdy titanium hardware in the shape of a traditional buckle.

It also has a design that is different from Nomad’s other bands, as well as Apple’s and third-party bands. Here’s how Nomad describes the new band:

We designed the Rocky Point Band from the ground up to complement your Apple Watch and enhance its functionality on adventures near and far. From its ultra-tough compression-molded FKM to its titanium hardware, every detail has been carefully considered to maximize performance and take you to new heights.

Participation experience with the Rocky Point Band

The Rocky Point band is slightly thicker and wider than Nomad’s Sport band. This makes it feel more robust, but also means that the company was able to build in more functionality alongside the unique aesthetic, such as numerous ventilation channels.

As you can see below, the ventilation grooves extend along both sides of the entire band, making a real difference in airflow and preventing your wrist from sweating (or sweating).

I usually stick with the Nomad sport band for everyday use, so I’m not used to a traditional buckle.

What I appreciate about the buckle design, however, is the fact that the watch band only has one inner thickness on your wrist (a more consistent feel).

With the buckle you have two inner layers of the band on one part of your wrist and one layer on the other.

On the other hand, if you are not used to a traditional buckle, it may take some getting used to resting your wrist/hands on the desk as the outside is not completely flat.

As always, Nomad’s attention to detail is on point. In my opinion, the Rocky Point titanium buckle matches the titanium tone of the Apple Watch Ultra perfectly.

Although it is a thicker and more durable band, Rocky Point offers a very comfortable fit in my use.

I haven’t tested it long enough to comment on durability, but based on the other Nomad straps I’ve used for years, I feel like Rocky Point will hold up in the long run.

Grab the Rocky Point Apple Watch Band

If you like a sturdy yet comfortable fluoroelastomer strap with a traditional buckle, Rocky Point is a great choice. This strap is more expensive than many alternatives, but I think you get a product that will stand the test of time.

The Rocky Point Band is available in Sol, Atlantic and Storm and can be purchased now from Nomad for $80.
