UTPB football schedule 2024: times, dates

UT Permian Basin earned plenty of accolades last season, including a Lone Star Conference title and multiple All-American and All-Region honors for quarterback Kenny Hrncir, linebacker Hayden Kelly and Dominique Varela. All three have graduated, but Hrncir and Kelly have moved into coaching roles and will mentor the next men at their respective positions.

UTPB excelled on both offense and defense last year. The team ranked first in the LSC in both defense and offense. The Falcons ranked eighth in the nation in offense, averaging over 42 points per game. The defense was tops again, allowing just 16 points per game and ranking 11th in Division 2 in that category.

The team won several clear victories, crushing Texas College 96-0 and Southwest Baptist 86-7. The Falcons made it to the Division 2 playoffs, but were surprisingly eliminated early, losing 10-3 at home to Bemidji State.

All of this is to say that UTPB was an elite school last year, and while they are losing talent, it is a masterstroke by head coach Kris McCullough to utilize that talent as a coach. UT Permian Basin is not expected to lose much in quality in 2024. The team was picked to finish third in the LSC Coaches Poll and is ranked No. 21 in the AFCA national Coaches Poll.

Here is the UTPB schedule for the 2024 season.
