Captain Jarrod Bowen praises Hammers star after the game

Jarrod Bowen was named West Ham’s new captain ahead of the start of the new season. Although he didn’t put in a great performance in the first game against Aston Villa, the 27-year-old scored the second goal in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace and was one of West Ham’s best players. Now, after the game, Bowen praised Hammers star Tomas Soucek for his impressive performance in the game.

Although there have been several transfer rumours suggesting that Soucek could leave the Hammers this season, he is a key player in the midfield of Julen Lopetegui’s side. In the first half, Soucek provided support in defence as Crystal Palace created several scoring opportunities. In addition, Soucek scored the first goal in the second half, giving West Ham a 1-0 lead after a brilliant pass from Aaron Wan-Bissaka from the right flank.

Overall, it was a great performance from the 29-year-old, who struggled with form and fitness last season. This game again showed that Soucek is a quality player and West Ham should use him in midfield this season. Now West Ham turn their attention to their FA Cup match against Bournemouth.

There are now four days left in the summer transfer window and West Ham are still looking for some new signings to strengthen their squad.
