Police arrest suspect involved in Sunday shooting

OKLAHOMA CITY (OKH) — Oklahoma City police responded to a report of a barricaded person early Tuesday morning.

According to police, the suspect was involved in a shooting on Sunday.

Two teenagers were arguing and one of the girls called her father, his fiancée and her sister, who helped break up the fight.

The suspect then appeared and fired a shot that hit one of the men who had come to break up the fight.

Police were able to track the suspect to an apartment complex near N MacArthur Boulevard and Northwest 39th Expressway.

Police arrived at the complex, which was a hotel converted into apartments, around midnight on Tuesday.

The suspect had barricaded himself in the apartment where a woman was staying.

While police secured the scene of the accident, a portion of the Northwest 39th Expressway was closed.

Police said the woman came out of the apartment and the suspect surrendered; both were taken into custody without incident.
