Former opponent reveals he perfectly predicted Belal Muhammad’s ‘Randy Couture-style’ welterweight title win at UFC 304

Former opponent reveals he perfectly predicted Belal Muhammad’s ‘Randy Couture-style’ welterweight title win at UFC 304

Belal Muhammad went into UFC 304 as an underdog, but it certainly didn’t look that way in the early hours of the morning in Manchester.

The challenger for the welterweight title largely dominated Leon Edwards and became champion by unanimous decision.

After Edwards had already beaten top wrestlers Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, many assumed that he would be able to easily withstand Muhammad’s tough wrestling style. However, this was not the case.

A former opponent of the current champion, who spent the 25 minutes with him in the Octagon, saw this performance coming from him and was able to successfully predict it in advance.

Gilbert Burns reveals correct pre-fight prediction and analysis for UFC 304

In a recent episode of Believe me, I-PodcastMichael Bisping was joined by former welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns.

Burns will be looking to rebound from his back-to-back losses next time he faces Sean Brady, both of whom were beaten during Muhammad’s undefeated run to the title.

“Durinho” revealed in an interview that he was not surprised by the events in Manchester and that he had already told Bisping about it beforehand.

After going through his messages, the former middleweight champion was able to find the message that correctly stated that “Remember The Name” would raise his hand on July 27, and how he would do so.

Bisping read the message aloud after asking Burns about his prediction, only to forget to mention it during the live broadcast.

“Tough fight, but I think Belal will make it a tough fight. I think that’s the only way for him to win and I think he will. A tough fight in the style of Randy Couture. Dirty boxing inside mixed with wrestling.”
