6 New York Firefighters Injured as Level 4 Fire Spreads to Multiple Homes

NEW YORK – Six firefighters and three civilians were injured in a Level 4 fire that engulfed several buildings in Brooklyn.

The fire started around 10:40 p.m. on August 26 in a building on Dean Street in Crown Heights. WABC reported.

The fire spread to four other houses.

According to WABC, the New York Fire Department said the roof of the burning building collapsed to the top floor as firefighters tried to prevent the flames from spreading.

“The first thing I saw were the flames coming out of the windows. It was like an inferno – everything was burning,” said Frederico Pagan, a neighbor. PIX11 News“All the flames are out and the fire is spreading from one house to the next. It has engulfed four houses.”

There was no report on the severity of injuries to firefighters and civilians.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
