Northwood High students begin classes in the new Woodward building

Students who previously attended Northwood High School in Silver Spring began classes Monday at the newly constructed Woodward High School in North Bethesda. Northwood will be demolished and remodeled, with reopening planned for 2028. [Montgomery Community Media]

Closed Red Line stations will reopen on Sunday

Four Red Line Metro stations in Montgomery County that were closed over the summer for construction on the Purple Line will reopen on Sunday. The Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen and Silver Spring stations have been closed since June 1. Five county organizations receive Purple Line grants

Five nonprofits in Montgomery County have received community grants from Purple Line Transit Partners, targeting neighborhoods where Purple Line light rail stops are located.
