Criminal Record – Season 2 confirmed for Capaldi/Jumbo thriller

DS June Lenker and DCI Daniel Hegarty have a score to settle as Criminal Record returns.

Apple TV+ has confirmed details of a second season of the exciting police thriller series Criminal records.

The series, starring Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo, debuted to critical acclaim in January this year as police officers caught up in an escalating trial surrounding a historic murder conviction.

The show was written by Paul Rutman (Indian Summer, Believe).

Here’s what we know about Criminal records Season 2:

In season two, June is the highest-ranking officer on the scene when a political rally is attacked by far-right counter-protesters. A young man is killed in the violence and June, wracked with guilt, desperately tries to bring the unknown killer to justice. Her best hope seems to be Daniel, who has now become a key figure in the shadowy world of police intelligence. He may have the answers she needs, but to get his help she must make a dangerous deal.

Tod Productions and STV Studios are producing the show for Apple TV+. Elaine Collins (Shetland) and Chris Susman (A good omen) executive producer, alongside Rutman, Capaldi and Jumbo.

Peter Capaldi

Peter Capaldi is currently filming more The devil’s hourin which he plays the mysterious criminal Gideon Shepherd. Created, written and executive produced by Tom Moran, the show is produced by Hartswood Films and two more seasons are in the pipeline.

Cush Jumbo

Next up for Cush Jumbo is the sci-fi/fencing film Balestrain which the main roles also play The Acolyte‘s Manny Jacinto.
