Nebraska Public Media partners with media collective to host debate in 1st Congressional District

Next month, candidates for Nebraska’s 1st District congressional seat will take the debate stage.

Republican Mike Flood and Democrat Carol Blood will discuss a variety of issues during the 60-minute debate at Nebraska Public Media’s Ron Hull Studio in Lincoln on Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.

The debate, hosted by Nebraska Public Media, is in partnership with the Nebraska Examiner, Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal Star and KRVN Rural Radio Network.

Nebraska Examiner political reporter Aaron Sanderford will moderate the debate, and journalists from Nebraska Public Media, Lincoln Journal Star and KRVN Rural Radio Network will ask him questions in a panel discussion on a variety of topics.

The debate will be broadcast live on Nebraska Public Media television, radio and digital platforms and rebroadcast on Nebraska Public Media television.

“We are excited to give voters in Congressional District 1 and across the state the opportunity to hear what these candidates have to say,” said Jay Omar, news director for Nebraska Public Media. “I appreciate the willingness of both candidates to participate and the hard work of our media partners.”
