Nuremberg – A nurse is said to have made videos while at work and broadcast them live on the Internet. The man has since been fired and the operator of the Nuremberg nursing facility is shocked.

The employee is said to have streamed videos live on the internet while at work. The Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) confirmed the incident. “The BRK has identified facts that must be examined under labor law, but in particular under criminal law and data protection law,” said spokeswoman Sohrab Taheri-Sohi. The nurse no longer works for the BRK. The collaboration had already been terminated for other reasons and at an earlier point in time, it was said. The media had previously reported on the incident, which a YouTuber said had brought to the BRK’s attention. According to a spokeswoman for the Central Franconia headquarters, no report has yet been filed with the police.

“The behavior, statements and ideas presented in the videos and live streams, especially about the people entrusted to him who need care and protection, are in no way compatible with our principles and everything that we as the Bavarian Red Cross stand for and what the nursing profession stands for,” explained Taheri-Sohi. The employee had been taught about data protection and confidentiality and had received training.

According to media reports, the nurse is said to have mentioned the names of patients in the live streams and made fun of them. The BRK stated that all those affected had been informed about the incident. The BRK did not comment on any further details. (kam/dpa)
