Shelters deployed, firefighters battle chemical fire in Frisco – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Firefighters in Frisco were alerted to a massive chemical fire at a pool supply company Wednesday morning.

According to the City of Frisco, the Fire Department’s dispatch center received a report of a large structure fire at a swimming pool supply store shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Both the Frisco Fire Department and the Little Elm Fire Department arrived at the scene.

After the fire department arrived on the scene, they raised the alert level to three and ordered people living in the area to stay at home.

People in the area between Research Road and Page Street (to the south – behind City Hall), the railroad tracks (to the east) and the Dallas North Tollway (to the west) are asked to evacuate, city officials said. All others are asked to avoid the area.

The firefighters are not yet sure what chemicals they are dealing with.
