Police arrest suspected murderers and armed robbers in Bauchi

The Bauchi police said their officers had arrested three suspected armed robbers in Misau local government area of ​​the state.

In a statement on Tuesday, Bauchi police spokesman Ahmed Wakil said the suspects were Ahmad Musa, alias Abba Yausa, 20; Tijjani Abdullahi, alias TJ, 20; and Danladi Aliyu, alias Uban Daba, 30.

“In fact, the incident occurred sometime in July 2024, where the suspects together with four others, namely Ismail Kawuwa, Sadiq Kange, Adamu Dan Kamfani and Attahir (still at large), conspired and unlawfully entered the residence of Malumi in Misau LGA, Bauchi State,” he said.

“Armed with locally made pistols and seven rounds of live ammunition, they robbed Malumi of 250,000 naira, three mobile phones and an undisclosed amount of recharge cards from various networks.

“Ahmad Musa was arrested by the Rapid Response Squad with a fake pistol and seven rounds of live ammunition. During interrogation, the suspects confessed their involvement in the crime.”

The spokesman said the state Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa, had ordered the case to be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation.

In a separate development, the command arrested two suspects over the murder of one Adamu Alkasim.

Wakil said the incident occurred in Bayan Gari area of ​​Bauchi, where 20-year-old Usman Shehu and 19-year-old Abdullahi Abubakar were arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy and intentional killing.

“Usman Shehu conspired with four others to attack a certain Adamu, which led to his death,” he said.

“Upon receipt of the report, Commissioner of Police Auwal Muhammad ordered a discreet investigation which led to the arrest of Usman Shehu and Abdullahi Abubakar.”

The police spokesman added that once the investigation is complete, a profile of the suspects will be drawn up and charges will be filed.

Wakil added that the command was working to arrest the remaining suspects and urged anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact the police.
